Eugene chiropractic spinal manipulation care is relieving and cost effective.

SPINAL MANIPULATION IS EFFECTIVE AND COST REDUCING FOR SPINE CARE

Rethwill Chiropractic Clinic welcomes all spine pain patients! We know the frustration that comes with spine pain. Eugene chiropractic spinal manipulation is beneficial for many. Though low back pain is a major source of disability globally, its sufferers who experience recurrent or persistent bouts of low back pain report that chiropractic maintenance care is valuable as it is patient-centered care. (1) Neck pain sufferers, too, find help with chiropractic. Neck pain patients who undergo spinal manipulation – 90% of which is delivered by chiropractors in the US – had lowered risk by 2.38 times to need higher level and costly care like imaging, injection, emergency room or surgery (just 26%) than patients who were treated with other kinds of care (46%). (2) A new study of Medicare patient claims reports that patients who had decreased access to chiropractic care had an uptick in visits (32.3 a year) to primary care physicians for spine pain and an uptick in spine surgeries (5.5 a year) costing an extra $114,967 per 1000 Medicare beneficiaries and $391 million nationally. (3) Your Eugene chiropractor is well-experienced in delivering spinal manipulation.  Spinal manipulation is and has been advised as first-line treatment for low back pain. Medicare claims’ reviews note that chiropractors are the majority of healthcare providers for spinal manipulation and that the overall supply of spinal manipulation providers is dropping. (4) Don’t worry! Your hometown, Eugene chiropractor has no intention of not providing pain-relieving spinal manipulation, particularly the gentle, research-supported Cox® Technic style of spinal manipulation.

Listen to this PODCAST with Dr. Kurt Olding on The Back Doctors Podcast with Dr. Michael Johnson as he presents research on the role of spinal manipulation in the Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management for the relief of spinal stenosis, a common spine pain condition in the over-65 age group.

Rethwill Chiropractic Clinic shares new research on the benefit of adequate B vitamin levels.

Eugene CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH:

Beneficial B Vitamins

B vitamins are beneficial. B12 deficiency is often associated with dementia in patients over 65 years of age. It’s also been found in young people who have normal B12 levels but their methylmalonic acid (MMA) level is high. Testing the MMA level may be considered in patients with symptoms that seem unrelated as in one patient with neuropathy, depression and stomach issues who tested a high level of MMA. (5) Biotin (B7) supplementation is showing potential in the treatment of neuropathic pain and could lessen the required doses of analgesic drugs. (6) Riboflavin (B2) in foods and via supplements is renowned for its antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory effects among others. A recent study found that B2 to be anti-itch. (7) Are your B levels good? Let’s talk at your next visit!
